JUNIOR OILERS, WEIMER BLANK RHINOS FOR FIRST HOME WIN
Malachi Clark scores the lone goal and Anderson Weimer stops all 44-of-44 in 1-0 win over Rhinos.


TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Junior Oilers, proud member of the NA3HL and partner of the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills and Ruffin Event Center, shutout the El Paso Rhinos on Saturday night.

Neither team found the back of the net in the opening frame, as El Paso outshot Tulsa 19-6.

The Jr. Oilers picked up momentum in the second period, as they outshot El Paso 14-13, but neither team would find the back of the net, keeping it 0-0 heading into the third.

Malachi Clark scored the lone goal 2:58 into the third period against his former team, set up by Brayden Hagemann and Jason Fatta, making it 1-0.

Anderson Weimer stopped 44-of-44 shots in the win, earning the first shutout for the Jr. Oilers in the NA3HL era.

Tulsa and El Paso will square off tomorrow afternoon for the final leg of a three-in-three. Puck drop from WeStreet Ice Center is set for 1:30 p.m. CST.
