Goaltender David Gifford returns to Tulsa Oilers for the 2025-26 season

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Oilers Junior Hockey Club, proud member of the North American 3 Hockey League and partner of the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills and Ruffin Event Center, announced Wednesday the re-signing of goaltender David Gifford for the 2025-26 season.

Gifford, 19, appeared in 13 games last season, posting a 7.12 GAA, .857 save percentage and a  2-8-1 record.

“We’re excited to welcome Giff back to Tulsa as he finishes out his Junior career,” said Head Coach Chi-Yin Tse. “He ended last season on a high note with a dramatic win and it was clear he grew more confident as he began to truly believe in himself. His veteran presence and steady demeanor will be a tremendous asset both on and off the ice.”

Prior to embarking on his junior career, the 5-foot-10 goaltender played high school hockey for the Wichita Junior Thunder. Gifford was a part of three consecutive league championships. Throughout 40 games played, the Valley Center, Kansas native posted a 1.37 GAA, .936 save percentage and a 35-1-1 record.

Gifford joins Stone Baulch as announced player signings for the 2025-26 season. Stay tuned for more roster transactions as the offseason progresses.

The Oilers open up the season at home against the Austin Ice Bats on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. The weekend continues from the WeStreet Ice Center on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.
