JUNIOR OILERS ADD PAIR OF VETERAN FORWARDS

Sep 11, 2024

The Tulsa Junior Oilers have signed a pair of veteran forwards for the 2024-25 season

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Junior Oilers, proud member of the NA3HL and partner of the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills and Ruffin Event Center, announced Wednesday the signings of Reese Blasdell and Jackson Pick for the 2024-25 season.

Blasdell, 20, comes in after spending two seasons in the USPHL Elite with the Northern Cyclones. In 64 total games played, the Sheridan, Wyoming native tallied 11 goals and 18 assists.

Prior to his tenure with the Northern Cyclones, Blasdell played with the Sheridan Hawks of the NA3HL in the 2021-22 season, appearing in two games.

“I think adding a veteran of his age is going to help out immensely, just with teaching the younger guys,” said head coach Zac Desjardins. “I’ve talked to some people about him and they say that he works very hard, and that’s what we need here in Tulsa. I look at where he comes from, in Wyoming, it’s going to be a huge asset, because those guys are down to earth, and that’s what we need.”

Pick, 17, brings in experience, having spent last season with the former Mid Cities Junior Stars, in the NA3HL South Division. Pick appeared in 34 games registering one assist.

“I think it’s very crucial just to have somebody that has experience going into some of the venues that we have to,” said Desjardins. “It’s different than youth hockey going into some of these places. I think he’s experienced it, and he’s prepared. I think having him here to sort of tell the guys, for the first minute or two, it’s gonna be crazy, then after that, just play the game.”

Blasdell and Pick join Sam Cardona, Willy Fischer, Austin Tyler and Ryan Humphries as announced signings for the 2024-25 season.

Game action begins on Friday, Sept. 20 against the Austin Ice Bats. Puck drop from Ice & Field at The Crossover in Cedar Park, Texas is set for 8 p.m. All games can be streamed on NATV.
