OILERS BOLSTER BLUE LINE WITH VETERAN DEFENSEMAN TY BRANDER

Defenseman Ty Brander signs with Tulsa Oilers for the 2025-26 season.


TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Oilers Junior Hockey Club, proud member of the North American 3 Hockey League and partner of the Marriott Tulsa Southern Hills and Ruffin Event Center, announced Wednesday the signing of defenseman Ty Brander for the 2025-26 season. 

Brander, 20, enters his third and final year of juniors, having spent the last two seasons with the Great Falls Americans. In 73 games played with the Americans, the Airdrie, Alberta native registered one goal and nine assists. 

“Ty brings a defensively focused game to Tulsa and continues to refine his craft to become even more reliable in his own zone,” Head Coach Chi-Yin Tse said. “He understands the demands of the game at this level and arrives with valuable experience from competing in the tough Frontier Division. We’re excited to add another veteran presence with strong leadership qualities to our group.”

Prior to beginning his junior career, the 5-foot-9 blue liner spent the 2022-23 season with the Airdrie Lightning U18 AA, logging three goals and two assists in 31 games played.

Brander joins Luke Yahola, Chase Boswell, Ethan Bellamy, Willy Fischer, Caleb Gamboa, Montana Medina, Toby House, Willy Fischer,  Jack Salverson, Evan Scholl, Henry Pinkerman, Kurtis Brachlow, Cassius Hook, Johnny Arruda, Noah Leriger, Charlie Scott, David Gifford and Stone Baulch as announced signings for the 2025-26 season. 

The Oilers continue their homestand on Friday, Sept. 19, against the New Mexico Ice Wolves at 7:15 p.m. The weekend continues from the WeStreet Ice Center on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
